Weather May Impact Holiday Travel

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP/WMOT)  --  A rain-sleet mix could make holiday travel a challenge across the mid-state.

The National Weather Service says we can expect light rain mixed with sleet beginning this evening and tomorrow. There’s a slight chance of light snow tomorrow night.

The sleet and snow may linger up on the Cumberland Plateau through Wednesday morning.

The Weather service says it doesn’t look like the weather will cause too many problems but says travelers may encounter some slick spots on the roadways, especially on the plateau.

This same arctic mass weather system is blamed for at least eight deaths out West. It’s expected to bring freezing rain and sleet to parts of Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas today.
