Will the mid-state see $2 gas by the end of this week?

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A fuel price analyst with AAA says the mid-state could see $2 gas by the end of the week.

As of this morning the average price in Tennessee for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline stands at $2.37, that’s 17 cents below the national average.

There are about 20 stations in the Murfreesboro area selling a gallon of unleaded for less than $2.20.

AAA fuel analyst Mark Jenkins says enjoy the lower prices while they last. Analysts are divided on where oil prices are headed next.

“There’s some forecasters out there believing that oil prices could fall through the first half of next year, others who believe it could bounce back up to $90 a barrel by next year. So oil prices remain pretty volatile.”

Jenkins says he does feel fairly confident that Tennessee will continue to see prices fall through at least the end of this month.
