NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  You may have noticed that WMOT Radio’s home here at Middle Tennessee State University has a new name.

The former College of Mass Communication recently changed its name to The College of Media Entertainment.

College Dean Ken Paulson recently noted that the new name is ”a clear and contemporary name that reflects the way media work today. “

Tuesday evening the performing rights giant BMI will host a reception in Nashville to help the College celebrate its new brand.

Dean Paulson and university President Sidney A. McPhee will be joined at the reception by MTSU alumna Hillary Scott of the top-selling country music trio Lady Antebellum.

Scott is expected to announce the donation of a special gift that the university says will benefit students attending the college.

The event begins at 4 p.m. this evening on the BMI terrace and is by invitation only.
