Year-long MPD investigation results in Rape Charges

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Police say they’ve arrested two former Murfreesboro residents on multiple counts of Rape, Sexual Battery and Incest.

Murfreesboro Police say 46-year-old Nancy B. Aragon of Nags Head, NC, turned herself in Monday after a Rutherford County Grand Jury indicted her for Sexual Battery by an Authority Figure. Aragon was arrested and booked into the Rutherford County Jail on $50,000 bond.

The arrest report notes that Charles Aragon was also indicted in the case and was arrested by police in Nags Head, where the Aragon’s now live. He will be extradited back to Murfreesboro to stand trial. Charles Aragon was indicted on six counts of Rape, two counts of Sexual Battery and one count of incest.

The MPD says it’s been investigating this case for nearly a year. The abuse was first reported when the then 17-year-old alleged victim came forward to say she had been sexually abused years earlier at the age of 14.

The report says evidence presented to the grand jury alleged that Nancy B. Aragon participated in the abuse.

CORRECTION: In an earlier version of this story WMOT News incorrectly identified the woman arrested for Sexual Battery as Nancy Alcorn in the storiy's last paragraph. The person indicted, as identified correctly elsewhere in the story, was 46-year-old Nags Head, NC, resident Nancy B. Aragon. WMOT apologizes for the error.
