MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- A Murfreesboro man returned home Monday to discover his home had been burglarized, and you’re not going to believe what was taken.
When Jackson Street resident Juan Morales-Rodriguez got home late Monday night he found that someone had kicked in the backdoor.
The thieves stole a number of items, including power tools and fencing supplies. Morales-Rodriguez told police that, in addition, the thieves had also unhooked and stolen his hot water heater.
To add insult to injury, the burglars didn’t take time to shut off the water supply, so a back room of the home was damaged by water. The vinyl, floor, and subfloor will all have to be replaced and there’s no doubt a large water bill on the way.
Morales-Rodriguez says he’s noticed a couple of men hanging around he suspected might be casing the house, but wasn’t able to provide police with a description.
