Graduating Seniors’ Art on Exhibit at MTSU’s Todd Gallery

Join the MTSU Art Department for the first of the spring semester’s Bachelor of Fine Arts Candidate’s Exhibits, “Still Working,” on Monday, March 19, in the University’s Todd Art Gallery.

The exhibit, which will include an artists’ reception on March 19 at 6 p.m. in the Todd Gallery, runs through Thursday,March 22. It features work by Cullen McMackins, GT McMahon, Rhett Moser, Jennifer Baker and Dave Rollins.

MTSU Lecturers Explain Jewish Songwriters’ Legacies

Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Neil Diamond and Carole King are only a few of the creative masters to be discussed by three MTSU professors in conjunction with an exhibit at Murfreesboro’s Linebaugh Public Library.

“A Fine Romance,” a tribute to Jewish composers and their contributions to American music, is slated for viewing March 9-April 20 at Linebaugh, which is located at 105 W. Vine St.

The nationally touring display tells the history of Jewish songwriters from 1910 to 1965 with images from Broadway musicals, classic films, posters and personal collections.

Visiting Fulbright Scholar talks about Bahrain life, culture Feb. 28 at MTSU

Visiting Fulbright Scholar Dr. Thurya Abdulla says spending the past six months at MTSU and Murfreesboro has been a “great opportunity.”

Abdulla, who received her doctorate in mathematics from Imperial College at the University of London and teaches at the University of Bahrain, has utilized her Fulbright opportunity with the MTSU Department ofMathematical Sciences.
