A campus collaboration has led to a first-time prescription drug take-back collection event at MTSU.
Campus Pharmacy, Health Services and Public Safety are partnering to hold the MTSU Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. It will be held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at the Student Health, Wellness and Recreation Center.
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- Tennessee’s unemployment rate has risen for the third month in a row and now stands three-tenths above the national jobless rate.
Tennessee’s unemployment rate in March was 7.9 percent, up one-tenth from February’s rate. Tennessee’s jobless rate had dropped to 7.6 percent in December before starting to rise the first of the year.
Unemployment rose in education, health and retail trade. New jobs were created in business services, transportation and utilities.
DETROIT (AP/WMOT) — Franklin based Nissan North America, one of Middle Tennessee’s biggest employers, is reporting its best sales ever during the month of March.
Nissan says sales were up a full percentage point in March year-over-year. The company says the all-electric Nissan LEAF now being built at the company’s Smyrna plant, saw sales jump by more than 280 percent year-over-year.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- The final day to file your 2012 federal taxes is fast approaching. Goodwill of Middle Tennessee is offering to help get your tax return prepared in time to meet the April 15 deadline.
Goodwill’s Shelbyville, Lawrenceburg and downtown Nashville locations will have trained tax preparers on hand 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through the fifteenth.
The charity's Jamie Berry says they’re happy to help anyone fill out their tax forms.
