Alive Hospice Says Only 1-in-3 Prepared

Murfreesboro Meeting Explores End-of-Life Issues

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Several of the area’s leading health care providers are partnering to get Middle Tennesseans talking about end-of-life care.

The program “The Gift Initiative” is supported by Vanderbilt University, Saint Thomas Health, Alive Hospice and The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation. The Initiative is convening a panel discussion on end of life issues Tuesday evening at the Center for the Arts in Murfreesboro.

Alive Hospice spokesman Phil Barnett said only about one person in three has documented what their desires are for their end of life care.
