Disapointing Homecoming Loss for MTSU

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Saturday's 24-17 loss to East Carolina was not the way Middle Tennessee State wanted its first Conference USA Homecoming game to end.

Carolina QB Shane Carden had 365 yards passing and accounted for two touchdowns to help East Carolina edge Middle Tennessee.

 

 

The Pirates scored the go-ahead touchdown early in the fourth quarter when Carden found Justin Hardy for a 21-yard strike.

MTSU's First C-USA Game an Overtime Thriller

BOCA RATON, Fla.  (WMOT)  --  The Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders pulled out a roller-coaster, down to the wire win on Saturday, beating Florida Atlantic 42-35 in overtime

This was Middle Tennessee’s first game and first win as a member of Conference USA. The Raiders are now 3 and 1 on the season.

Middle Tennessee was never behind, but the game was tied five times. Florida Atlantic kept clawing back to even in a wild final few minutes of regulation play.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  This is a big weekend for the Middle Tennessee State football team. 

The Blue Raiders will be in Boca Raton, Florida on Saturday to take on the Florida Atlantic Owls.

This marks the first-ever Conference USA contest for the Blue Raiders. Middle Tennessee officially became a member of the conference on July 1.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Cody Clark hit a 40-yard field goal with 1:49 left to lift Middle Tennessee over Memphis 17-15 Saturday night.

Clark's kick capped an 8-play, 42-yard drive keyed by a 25-yard pass from Logan Kilgore to Tavarres Jefferson. Memphis drove to the Middle Tennessee 37 before consecutive sacks of Paxton Lynch on the game's final two plays.

Blue Raiders Looking 3rd Straight Win Over Memphis

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Middle Tennessee quarterback Logan Kilgore believes the Blue Raiders have a little rivalry going with the Memphis Tigers.

That's understandable, considering the Blue Raiders have won four of the last five games.

Kilgore says the games always are a dogfight with Memphis an in-state team.
