American B-52 bombers have flown into Chinese airspace after China said they couldn't. It's the latest wrinkle in the ongoing dispute over some disputed islands that sit between China, Japan and Taiwan. The World's Matthew Bell tells you what the fuss is all about.

‘Hidden History of Civil War Tennessee’ Revealed on ‘MTSU On the Record’

Author Jim Jones to appear 'On the Record'

An MTSU alumnus who has chronicled little-known stories about Tennessee during the Civil War will be the guest on the next edition of the “MTSU On the Record” radio program.

Host Gina Logue’s interview with Dr. James B. Jones Jr., a public historian on the staff of the Tennessee Historical Commission/State Historic Preservation Office, will air from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, and from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, on WMOT-FM (89.5 and www.wmot.org).

‘MTSU On the Record’ Comes Alive With the Sound of New Music Director

Dr. Michael Parkinson, new Director of the MTSU School of Music

The director of the MTSU School of Music will be the guest on the next edition of the “MTSU On the Record” radio program.

Host Gina Logue’s interview with Dr. Michael Parkinson will air at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, and at 8 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, on WMOT-FM (89.5 and www.wmot.org).

Parkinson, who began his tenure in July 2013, most recently served as professor and director of the school of music at Ohio University, where he taught classes in jazz studies and music industry/entrepreneurship.
