‘MTSU On the Record’ Rolls Up Its Sleeves to Discuss ‘True Blue Blood Drive’

MTSU’s latest contribution to the continuing need for blood in the region is the subject of the next edition of the “MTSU On the Record” radio program.

Host Gina Logue’s interview with Regina Raccuglia Conway, communications manager for the Tennessee Valley Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross, will air from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, and from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, on WMOT-FM (89.5 and www.wmot.org).

Murfreesboro Patient Dies of West Nile Virus

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — A mid-state man has died after contracting West Nile virus.

Family members told WTVF-TV (http://bit.ly/1aeurWo ) that 82-year-old Marion Rogers died Sunday at Saint Thomas at Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. Rogers was reportedly admitted about two weeks ago.

He was the 14th person in Tennessee to be diagnosed with the mosquito borne virus this year and the second death from it.
