The impact of powerful events on the human memory is the subject of the next “MTSU On the Record” radio program.

Host Gina Logue’s interview with Dr. Stephen Schmidt, a psychology professor at MTSU, is scheduled to air from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Monday, July 15, and from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Sunday, July 21, on WMOT-FM (89.5 and wwww.wmot.org).

Schmidt is the author of “Extraordinary Memories for Exceptional Events,” a book that examines how strong emotions and the distinctiveness of events combine to make some occurrences more memorable than others.

‘MTSU On the Record’ Experiences Joy of Animation

The next edition of “MTSU On the Record” focuses on a new class for anyone who loves animation.

Host Gina Logue’s interview with Kevin McNulty, assistant professor in the Department of Electronic Media Communication, is scheduled to air from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Monday, July 8, and from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Sunday, July 14, on WMOT-FM (89.5 and http://wmot.org).

Starting this fall, McNulty will teach “Animation and the Illusion of Motion” (EMC 1300) from 9:40 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday.

‘MTSU On the Record’ Focuses on Childhood Sexual Abuse Survivors

The next edition of the “MTSU On the Record” radio program will spread the good news about help for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

Host Gina Logue’s interview with Dr. Debra Rose Wilson, associate professor of nursing, will air from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Monday, July 1, and from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Sunday, July 7, on WMOT-FM (89.5 and wmot.org).

Wilson is co-author of a study in which 32 female adult survivors underwent four weeks of stress management training classes.

‘MTSU On the Record’ Analyzes Bereavement on the College Campus

The next “MTSU On the Record” radio program examines the ways a college community can deal with the death of one of its own.

Host Gina Logue’s interview with Dr. Kris McCusker, history professor and co-founder of the MTSU Working Group on Bereavement, will air from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Monday, June 24, and from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Sunday, June 30, on WMOT-FM (89.5 and wmot.org).

The group of various MTSU personnel created a brochure with information about how to cope with grieving the loss of a student, faculty member or staffer.
