New Riley Concerto to Debut in Middle Tennessee

Apr 18, 2012

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Middle Tennessee electric violinist Tracy Silverman and the Nashville Symphony are preparing to debut a new concerto by renowned composer Terry Riley.

Silverman and Riley were commissioned by the symphony to create the new concerto and have been working on the piece since 2010. They’ve entitled the work “Palmian Chord Ryddle” and Silverman describes the music as a mash-up of reggae and ragtime, containing both contemporary and ancient musical elements.
